Acupuncture

How does acupuncture work?

According to Chinese Medicine, the human body is full of meridians known as pathways that provide communication, energy, blood, and oxygen flow between different parts of the body. When there are blockages in these pathways due to physical or emotional trauma, illness occurs. Acupuncture removes the obstructions and restores the proper functions of the body to reduce pain and guides the body to heal itself.

Acupuncture is a powerful yet safe treatment. It has been used  for thousands of years by medical practitioners in treatment of illness, disease prevention, and overall wellness. Acupuncture restores the healthy functioning of the body naturally by inserting very fine needles at specific points. This is done by using sterile, single use, hair thin like needles. Vibrancy Wellness utilizes a gentle approach to provide the best comfort for our patients.

It is advised that patients where comfortable loose fitting clothing for their appointment. Acupuncture treatments are specifically customized to each individual to bring balance to the body. When there is balance there is health and vitality.

For patients suffering from illness

Acupuncture is used for the purpose of treating the root cause of a patient’s symptoms. A patient’s symptoms are considered the “branches” of disease, so by treating the root we also treat the branches.

For patients interested in general health and wellness

Acupuncture is a great addition to the regular routine of maintaining optimal health, as well as disease prevention.

Electro-Acupuncture

Gentle electric current is applied to acupuncture needles to further stimulate the points. This method provides a controlled light electric stimulation to the acupuncture treatment. Patients will feel a gentle pulsating sensation. Electro-acupuncture is highly effective for neurological disorders and stubborn pain.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

The holistic art of combining Chinese herbs is a natural way of healing the body and boosting over all health. Prescription formulas are based on tried and true classical herbal combinations which are then modified for each individual. These formulas help to regulate the body’s internal functions and bring balance to the body. Herbal medicine can be used alone, or to compliment acupuncture as it helps strengthen the body in between acupuncture sessions.

Chinese herbs are selected based on the patient’s root and branches of illness as well as their genetics. These herbs are primarily plants, flowers, seeds, bark and roots, though some animal and mineral substances may also be used. Many of the herbs are adaptogens, which means they help the body adapt and regulate stress.

Vibrancy Wellness customizes formulas to meet the needs of each individual. These custom prescriptions are for both acute and chronic conditions. They can be made into a tea, capsules, or tinctures. We also provide general formulas for common conditions in lieu of over the counter medications. We only utilize the highest quality of herbs that have passed rigorous testing for safety and proper sourcing.
